Book Page cards

Hello,
I recently watched a youtube video using old book pages!

I've torn pages out of a book I'd read but didn't like, so I wasn't feeling too bad about tearing it up to make a card lol!

I gessoed the pages, stuck them to a card front, once dry put some distressed inks here and there on it

dried it off with my heat tool and decorated it with bits and bobs.

this one has one of my Foamiran flowers on it

this blue one I used Kaisercraft mists to colour the flowers.

Until next time, happy crafting, stay safe..

80th Birthday Card

Hello,

This is a card I made the afternoon before one of the markets I attend,
I thought it was quite pretty and was pleased with it.

I had a lady pick it up to buy, she said it was for an 80th birthday!

I suggested I could put the number 80 on it for her in silver, she thought that was a lovely idea!

I love attending the markets and pleasing people with the cards that I make!

I have to smile now, as it was very nerve racking the first couple of times I did it, but once you relax and go with it, it is very satisfying!

until next time, happy crafting, stay safe..

Baby Boy Card

Hello,

At Sandringham market I was asked to make a baby boy card to go to the Netherlands.

The lady wanted Australian animals on it

I managed to find some animals, hand painted the backgrounds of the card with Distress Inks,

made branches, leaves. painted a pond for the platypus, even a small Sydney harbour,

the back I thought should look more like a baby card.

Once again another satisfied customer *

until next time, happy crafting, stay safe..

70th Wedding Anniversary Card

Hello,

I was commissioned recently to make a very Special card for a 70th Wedding Anniversary in September!

I was given photos of the couple on their wedding day on the 13th September 1947 - how amazing is that..

I made a Z fold card with Foamiran flowers symbolising white Gardenia's & a Pink Orchid which was given to the bride by a close neighbour for her bouquet on the day!

a close up of the flowers on the front of the card,

inside with a lovely photo of the couple Joyce & Alex with the announcement from the newspaper of the day, behind this is a tag with a small photo of the couple,

inside the back folds I've put a photo of the couple on honeymoon with a tag for their daughter to write a poem,

I made a box for the card to be stored in with red flowers the bridesmaids hand in their bouquets (which turned out to be red Camellia's) on the lid, the bridesmaids wore green dresses in a similar colour to the ribbons on the box,

this photo show's a clear box I made to display the card!

I have to say this card was a labour of love for me, I was so pleased with how it turned out.

The lady who commissioned me to make it was so thrilled she had tears, I have to admit I did too!

so until next time, happy crafting, stay safe..

Pretty Birthday Cards

Hi,
Here I have some of the very pretty female birthday cards I've made recently, I can't help myself with misting watercolour paper!

I have fallen in love with misting & using modelling paste on my cards with stencils

Here I have made some Foamiran flowers, this is another passion for me, I love how the flowers just seem to make themselves, I have a tutorial on my blog if anyone is keen to learn how to make them!

I love tearing the watercolour card once I have misted it, I just love it..

Until next time, happy crafting and stay safe..

Fathers Day Card

Hi,
Here are some of the Fathers Day cards I've made, we celebrate it on the 3rd September here in Australia,

Up up and away for this one,

I misted some watercolour card and tore it to use as the background for this card, the train is a Stampin up stamp

and here we have a rather large pocket watch and cogs, I love having fun misting w/colour card stock.

Until next time, happy crafting, take care

Foamiran Flowers - my first Tutorial

Hi there,
I would like to present my first ever tutorial, showing how I make
Foamiran flowers.

to die cut the petals, firstly I fold the foamiran in three or four depending on the size of the die, although with the long die I used one strip of foamiran to cut them out,
I used two colours of oil pastel to put on the petals with a piece of sponge,
I like to only colour 3 petals of each flower, turn them over and do the same on the other side, this gives a graduation of the colours on the petals I think,

next, with a stick I held each petal to my craft iron for 4 or 5 seconds until it started to curl,

place the warm petal onto a sponge (a cleaning sponge with a dry baby wipe for a cover) press with either the stick or an embossing tool, (thank you for the tip Bev Rochester)

after pressing the petal into the sponge twist each of the petals together between thumb & forefinger while still slightly warm, this gives the petals some shape,
after they are all twisted, uncurl each one and slightly press out each petal between thumb & forefinger or you can use the end of the embossing tool to do this, to give more shape to the lower part of the petal,
using a hot glue gun put a touch of glue into the centre of the petal and then place another one on top of this offsetting the petals to make a flower,

after folding 3 or 4 stamens in half, take a piece of wire, I use a cut off flower stem to do this,
put a little touch of hot glue onto the middle of the flower and pull the stamens through, once happy with how they look, dab a little hot glue onto the back of the flower to  secure the stamens in place.

finished flowers.

Thank you for spending time to read my long tutorial, I hope it was helpful for you!

I have to say there are many lovely YouTube videos out there to watch on how to make
Foamiran flowers, I hope my photos give you a slightly better idea seeing the steps I use!

until next time stay safe & happy crafting..

Elegant Special Occassion Cards

Hi,

These are two cards that would be lovely for a special occassion, again I have used modelling paste on them & with a sprinkling of diamond glitter which I love but while making the cards the glitter gets everywhere until the paste is dry lol,

this would be lovely for a wedding or anniversary,

and this one turned out particularly well as I made the flower using "silk" petals which was glued into a flower, misted it with the kaisercraft Aqua mist, it is a favourite of mine even though I'm not a blue person haha!

until next time, happy crafting..
