Backgrounds using New 2022 In Colours

Hello, welcome back to my blog.

When I saw the new In Colours for 2022-2023 I wasn't sure they were really my colours.

So thought I would have a play by tapping the end edge of 3 ink pads onto a piece of acetate, spritzed them with water, then taking a piece of Shimmer card stock, which I spritzed both sides with water,

holding the corners/side of the card began tapping the card on the spritzed colours on the acetate, if you just tap the card on the spritzed colours, you get a better result this way and will get white areas to on the background, rather than just pressing the yardstick straight down on the acetate sheet which will give you muddy colours I've found.

Once you are happy with the result let it air dry, this will only take a few minutes and if you want to add more colour to what you've just done, clean off the acetate then apply small dabs of either the same colours or different colours and repeat the same process as above.

I've used Sending Smiles stamp set and the dies.

For the flowers I used Happiness Abounds plus dies.

The flowers are coloured with Stampinup Water Colour pencils and water painters.

Frightfully Cute Pop Up Shadow Box Card

Hi and welcome to my Blog,

Today's post is all about Halloween..

I made this pop up Shadow box card for my granddaughter's birthday which is on the 25th October.
As her birthday is so close to Halloween I thought a fun fold Halloween card would be extra special for her.

So, using Stampinup's Frightfully Cute Stamp set and the Cute Halloween 6 x 6 DSP I have made the card a shadow box.

The sizes are:-

Basic grey 2 pieces 7.1/2" x 5.1/2"
scored at 3/4" & 1.1/2" either end

glimmer paper - inside centre back 5" x 5.1/2"

 front DSP 5.1/4" x 5.1/2"

2 DSP side strips 3/4' x 5.1/2"

Score and burnish the basic grey card stock at both ends, die cut out the centre of front panel after adhering the DSP to it, adhere the glimmer paper to the inside back, cut a piece of basic black card stock into a hill shape and glue onto glimmer paper on the back piece of the card, glue the tree and fences to the hill, place the tombstones where you want them.

next put adhesive on one of the 3/4" side/end pieces and glue the two pieces together,
glue a second piece of basic black card stock to the inside front of the card
before you then glue the second 3/4" side to the back panel to make the box shape,
if both sides line up correctly the card should lay flat for posting.
Next glue the R.I.P.  piece in place along with the tree and remaining fence pieces.
Turn the card over and glue the back piece of DSP to it adding a piece of white card stock to write your message.

The box shape allows for a Battery Tea light candle (NOT A REAL CANDLE) inside behind the tombstone and it changes colours which is quite Spooky haha..

Hi and welcome to my blog,

Today's post is using the Be Jolly Stamp set from the new mini Catalogue,

The idea for this card came from Nigezza.co.uk https://youtu.be/9Ag2XIZAn7A
Gez made a card with Santa in his PJ's which I thought was really cute.

My cards are variations of Santa in his suite using different shapes for his Beards.
Diorama Dies and the Celebration Labels dies which I think are retired.

the card size is:

Real Red card stock
8" x 8"
scored at 4"

Red front mat -  3.3/4" x 7.3/4"

Basic White inside mat 3.7/8" x 7.7/8"

Black glitter paper 4' x 1"
plus scrap for buttons

Brushed Metallic cardstock for the buckle
scrap basic white for the sentiment
and Wonderful snowflakes

with wonderful snowflakes on the sides of this card

and the Celebration Labels dies for this beard.

Here is the link for Stampin with Jilli where I found the idea for dimensionals

I have to say that I love designing Christmas cards..

It has been fun to make these cards and to play with something that is different.

Thanks for joining me today and I hope you like my little project/s.
