White Stardust Lantern

Hi everyone,

I hope that where ever you were for christmas you had a wonderful day, as I did with my family.

I'd like to share with you a lovely White Stardust Lantern that I've made at least 7 times for family and friends this Christmas, the template came from Sandra's Scrapsels it is a really lovely template and I have added my own slant on it.

The lantern template was cut twice from AC craft card on my Silhouette Cameo, I did this to give it a little more stability as I wanted to have lots of embellishing especially this time of the year, Christmas with lots of White except the Mini Tilda (Fairy Tale Collection) which I coloured Lilac with Copic markers.

I have used heaps of Puff White 3-D paint (Jones Tones) dusted with Snow white fine glitter dust (Ruby rock-it) I love watching the paint puff up its quite magical. I've used a La-La Land Christmas tree die dotted with white pearls, Joy Crafts Winter Wishes Snowflake die on the side with Ranger Stardust Stickles, Magnolia Doohickey Snowflake die also dotted with stardust stickles. The cute little Reindeer dies are from Impression Obsession which I think are just made for this.  Oh and I added a pearl strip to the canopy too and plaited some fine silver cording to make the hanger for the top.

The scene I've used for the background is from Joanna Sheen Thomas Kinkade Christmas CD, which I printed onto photo paper and added stardust stickles to make it shine in the BATTERY candle light!

I have to say I was really pleased with the finished lantern and after making 7 (all slightly different) I had the assembly of them down to a fine art LOL..  Funny thing is I didn't make one for myself - oh well maybe next year!

Winter Decorative Box

Hi everyone,

Sorry I've been missing for a short while, looks like I'm over the shingles & feeling heaps better, I've still got the neuralgia which can take some time to go!

But hey, its coming up to Christmas the best time of the year (or I think so) even though we are in summery (its a little chilly again) Melbourne..

I looked at my silhouette cameo and thought I can do something different this time (I love my new toy) so I'd like to share my Winter Decorative Box with you..

I've used Secret Tilda as she will be hiding presents he, he, this little lady always seems so comfortable in blue so I have kept the theme of "cool" blue and white with the exception of her present!

I used American Craft card stock, the christmas trees are La-La Land Christmas Tree die, Marianne Design Christmas Tree die. Magnolia Doohickey Snowflake, Noor Joy Winter Wishes Snowflake (down the side of the box) and Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia.

I have inked the edges of the box with Versa Color Cyan ink & the Poinsettia's too. With Martha Stewart punched leaves in blue & white adhered to the Joy christmas tree. Tilda, I have coloured with Copic markers, the sentiment is from Creative Stamping on a cloud shape I found in my stash.  The top of the box is tied with silver ribbon cord & has two cute silver coloured bells tied again with the silver ribbon cord, I tucked in two white feathers with lots of Ranger "Waterfall" Stickles for glittering shine. oh, and the two "blue" pearls I coloured with my Copics to match the blue theme.

I thought I might make some of these lovely "boxes" for the Christmas lunch table instead of crackers (Bon Bons) they do look a little like crackers but with no bang inside!! Must put on my ever expanding list some little presents to go inside these LOL..

Anything Goes

Hi everyone,

Its been another testing few weeks for me.  Closely following my darling grand-daughter Tamara's 3rd birthday I now have shingles - ouch I hear you say!
Its not pleasant but its telling me to take more care of me and not other's for a short while.. LOL, which I plan to do ASAP!

Anyway today I am sharing a card I've made for a friend in the UK who's birthday is early December (how about that a month before its actually needed) I surprise myself sometimes!

I have used one of the fairies from Wee Stamps "The Fairies Set" they are just so cute, she is coloured with Copic markers. I made her a stepper card from AC card stock, with Maja Design DP "Enjoying the lovely fragrance" it is such a soft romantic design it suited the fairy perfectly, which is edged with Versa Color Lilac ink, the Spellbinders Gilded Gate 2 is white and has a sprinkling of glitter (can't help myself) on the side posts to hide the double sided tape, I've die cut the fairy with Spellbinders Floral Ovals (one of my favourite's) and she has a Magnolia Doohickeys large Dragonfly sitting with her coated in Ranger Stickles Star Dust, the Magnolia tag has a bow of white organza ribbon from my stash. The perfectly coloured mini blooms in Amethyst & Fuchsia are from Kaisercraft they complete this darling card.

A little close up of the very cute Fairy.

"Song Bird" I just called to say I love you - Stevie Wonder ( The Woman in Red Album 1984)

Hi everyone,

I am so sorry to have been away from my blog for a while, but I've had a sick hubby in hospital with pneumonia which as you can imagine takes a while to get over.

Then two weeks ago I came down with a bug and was on antibiotics!  Now this week I have a snuffly cold!!   But it could be a lot worse so in that respect I am lucky.. cough, cough, sneeze, sneeze LOL.

Anyway, when I noticed that the Midweek Magnolia challenge was "Song Bird" I had just the right song in mind,

 - Stevie Wonder's "I just called to say I love you".

This was in the charts the last time that I spoke to my Dad in the UK for his birthday on the 12th December 1984.

Sadly he passed away in March 1985, this song will always remind me of my lovely Dad..

"Tilda with Big Ribbon" (You are Special Collection)

I bought this stamp a couple of months ago but didn't know the name or collection it came from until I did a search today.. how apt is that (You are so Special collection) as my Dad was very special to me!

Cardstock is American Crafts cut into shape with Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities Grand Labels One, I didn't want to make this too fussy so just used plain white and embossed two of the edges with Sizzix Scallop Doily set. The telephone is from my new Silhouette Cameo (which I am beginning to love), I used Copic markers to color Tilda and on part of the embossing too. The white daisies, pink roses and blue ribbon & lace are all from Paper2 my local craft store. I have used a few gems to highlight the blue and as usual for me Star Dust Ranger Stickles.

I've put part of the song verse on the front of the card to leave the inside blank.

Autumn Colours

Hi everyone,

I hope you are well and enjoying your Autumn it is one of my favourite seasons, its spring here though so a while to go for our autumn.

At Midweek Magnolias #73 the challenge is Autumn Colours..

My card features "Welcome to a lovely Home" (Sweet crazy Love Collection) I have used the Clouds  from this stamp many times so I thought why not use the whole stamp, it looks a really cozy little place to live, if only I were small enough lol.

The DP's are PION 'Vintage Garden' & "Waiting for Santa' the last one you can only just see, the card stock is American Craft, I have used Copic markers for the colouring, The lace is from Paper2, with Spellbinders Dies "Fall Foliage" for the leaves which I have edged with Kaisercraft Brown ink to 'age' the leaves a little, lemon ribbon from my stash with Ranger Stickles Platinum and Copper to add sparkle (can't live without sparkle in my life)

As a thought I have used FlowerSoft for the autumn foliage on the tree and little 'spots' of it in front of the fence to represent fallen leaves, I think it works okay!

A close up of the house and fence.

Sweet Sparkle - Wee Stamp

Hi everyone,

As usual its been a busy week, we had our daughter's birthday last Saturday, Sunday we went to the Paperific Expo and gathered lots of goodies that had to be paid for, hey isn't that what money is for LOL.

I worked at the Paediatrician's all day yesterday and my head really hurt when I got home just before 6pm, not sure about this working lark!!!  I should be retired ha, ha I am old enough..

Anyway, I have made a really simple card to enter the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog

"Sweet Sparkle"

This is a really simple card, I have used a Wee Digi Stamp "Sweet Sparkle" she is so easy to colour using my Copic markers, Kaisercraft card stock which I cut into shape with Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities Big Scalloped Circles.  I added a large ribbon bow (my stash) with an Adam Pescott sentiment stamp.  Obviously being me she has lots of Ranger Star Dust stickles..

Sorry the photo looks a bit out of kilter, not my best effort, oops!

Until next time, take care,

This is Mariah from Make it Crafty digi stamps, as my daughter loves blue and Paris Iv'e used Cafe de Paris also from Mic. The card stock is American Crafts, DP is Maja Design Vintage Summer Basics, the Post Card is from Pink Gem designs Digi stamp and a doily.
I've used Copic markers to colour Mariah and the Cafe. I love butterflies so this has Tim Holtz On the Edge 'Butterflight' which I have cut from white card stock and DT papers, the Eiffel tower and Poodle are from Cottage Cutz and a Magnolia Tag with flower & Rose ribbon is from Paper2, the pearl strip and flat-back pearls from my stash. I succumbed and used Shabby White Frantage (I love it) and lots of Ranger Star Dust stickles, oops the ribbon bow is from my stash as well.  I hope Karen (daughter) doesn't check out my blog until she has her card tomorrow lol.

A close up of Mariah and Cafe de Paris.

Peggy - Clean & Simple

Hi everyone,

Its a little dull here in Melbourne today but good for crafting LOL.

I have made a card for my niece in the UK and thought I might share it with you,

I've used Peggy (she's so cute) in lemon yellow, I love using Copic markers, I chose pale blue for her basket of flowers & bows on her shoes, the card stock is Kaiser with lemon pearl card (my stash) for the lovely Spellbinders die frame, flowers from Paper2, the centre rose is coloured with copic B02. She has lots of Ranger Star Dust stickles and this time I've used some Stampendous Shabby White Frantage, the sentiment is from Scrapmatts with a ribbon bow from my stash.

Wyanet (Beautiful)

Hi everyone,

I hope that you are all well and still enjoying the sun, we had some sunshine in Melbourne today but its still chilly!

After playing with my new Olympus camera (oh my gosh its sooo different from my old Olympus) I've figured it out enough to get a better shot of my cards now!!

I have a new card featuring the lovely Wyanet (Beautiful) Whimsy/Wee stamp.

I've used browns and reds to really make Wyanet shine (I love the little outcrop she is sitting on) I have coloured her with Copic markers on X-press it card. The card stock is Kaiser and the chevron stripe too, I thought it complimented the Bo-Bunny's Zoology nicely to make a lovely Tepee.

I have used Silk lace from Stableford Importers (got it at the last Craft Fair I went to) also some lovely bright yellow daisies from Paper2 with quilled centres (made by me) to contrast with the daisies, raffia paper tie, Spellbinders dies, a feather that I coloured with Copics to match the red orange theme and last but not least - Ranger Star Dust and Platinum Stickles.
Oops nearly forgot the sentiment from Scrapmatts.

A little side view of the Tepee with just a glimpse of the inside of the card.

Black and White

Hi everyone,

Its been a little chilly and wet so far this week, I hope that where ever you are it is nice weather.

I have an unsual card that I thought you might like to see, there is a brilliant Challenge on
Magnolia Down Under, its Black & White, not a colour combination that I find easy to do but I do like a challenge ha, ha!

 "Santa on Christmas Eve"

I thought it might be different to 'dress' Santa in a grey suit with a red sack instead of the other way round, I have set santa in a Forest of La La Land trees edged with silver versa color ink, along with a La La Land heart fence, Memory box Bianca Snowflake (which is gorgeous) also Magnolia Doohickey's Snowflake. I did cut an Icicle Border from Cottage Cutz for the top of the card but it disapeared under snowflakes (it must have snowed hard when my back was turned) there is another one inside though as you can see below...

There is a rather gorgeous Post Card to Santa that I found in the Pink Gem Design site whilst looking through their Christmas section - I was sooo pleased to find it, it will get used an awful lot with the run up to Christmas LOL.

I did try to stay true to the black and white theme but its a little tricky, I had to have some red somewhere, and just a little black ribbon bow from my stash.  I wanted more white than black so I've used pearl strips on the fence and icicle on the inside of the card and not to forget lots and lots of Ranger Star Dust Stickles - along with some Kaiser craft flowers,

I just love glitter as you can see from the close up of Santa!

Hand Bag Card

Hi everyone,

Hope you are enjoying the weather be it hot or our winter cold, my family in the UK are melting with the heat, I think it was the hottest summer since 1979 - OMGoodness doesn't that sound such a long time ago LOL..

I have a lovely card that I made from a design that came with my new Crafters Companion Ultimate Pro board, I loved the design as soon as I saw it - very "Girly" and I bet I will be using this a lot for family and friends birthdays coming up soon.

It is the Quilt & Craft Fair in Melbourne this weekend and I know that Debbie Pamment is going to be there, she has recently celebrated a birthday and as we haven't meet before but emailed lots, I thought I would make her a card, we both live around the Melbourne area (different suburbs) I thought it was too good an opportunity to miss.

Mini Tilda with Two Rosettes

I love Fairies, Butterflies and anything Pinky/Mauve.
I've used purple card stock from Paper2, the Handbag design was quite easy to make.
For the embellishment I placed a paper doily under a Spellbinders circle die cut with a white paper daisy flower (Paper2) coloured with Copic markers.

Close up of embellishment of Mini Tilda with Two Rosettes coloured with Copic markers.
Memory Box Chloe butterfly (large) is edged with Kaisercraft Aubergine ink, the smaller butterfly Marianne design #CR1205 again coloured with aubergine ink, finally the flourish is Joy crafts Vintage Borders 6002/0163.
A gem on the daisy and Ranger Star Dust stickles to add a little sparkle.

I think Tilda sits just perfectly on the butterflies.

Inside the card I have used vellum with a Birthday greeting stamp from my stash.
Whoops, I forgot the little scrap of ribbon for the handle -

I hope you like this little effort and thanks for stopping by.

Buttons and Bows

Hi everyone,

The last 2 weeks have been really busy, with the school holidays, as well I've had 2 unwell little  granddaughter's, who are now better and back at creche. We took our grandson and his Mum to Melbourne, we went on the Tourist Trams as Jamie loves any sort of transport, cars, trucks & racing cars.   Jamie's Wish with the Starlight Foundation at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne was to meet Michael Schumacher! His wish was fulfilled and Jamie with his parents were very lucky to meet Michael a few years ago when he came over for the Melbourne Grand Prix the year before he retired from Formula 1 racing, it was such a thrill for Jamie.

Anyway enough of my family (I love them all to bits) lol..
Here is a card that I am going to enter into Midweek Magnolias Challenge, this has my favourite Tilda on it,

"Tilda with Hawaii Flower"

I have made flowers for this card with cheese cloth which was cut with Spellbinders Rose Creations dies, I put Gesso on the cheese cloth, left it to dry while I cut out more of the rose shapes in Pink sparkling net, layered them together with some mini heart brads then I had the fun of scrunching them up into a flower shape - it was fun, I haven't done that before, its a first!
I think they look quite nice on the card..

Forget me not Card

Hi everyone,

I have a lovely new card featuring Tilda with Love, I have used Pion Design 'Vintage garden' so I decided to be a little bit more adventurous, I have cut out some of the elements from the sheet to make a few statement tags,

"Tilda with Love"

I really love "Forget Me Not" flowers (takes me back to my Grandmothers garden) and I decided to try to make some of those little flowers as a highlight on the card rather than roses.
I found in my flower stash these cute little ones which I coloured with Versa Magic inks and a dash of Ranger Star Dust stickles, I threaded them on to a rose bud stem with some leaves behind and a few stamens to look like "forget me not" buds, I am really pleased with how they have turned out, I hope you like it too..
